KaziConnect
Jobs on the phone people already own.

The problem
Most job platforms in Kenya need a smartphone and data. Most mobile users in Kenya don't browse on a smartphone, and many of the people looking for construction, security, retail and hospitality work are in that group.
Employers hiring for those roles still rely on site gates, notice boards, newspaper ads and word of mouth. The jobs exist and the workers exist. The connection between them is broken.
Our approach
For workers · USSD, any phone
- Dial the KaziConnect short code. [short code: to be announced once licensed]
- Build a profile: name, county, skills, experience. About two minutes.
- Browse jobs by sector and county. Apply with one key press.
- Get an SMS when an employer shortlists you, with interview details.
For employers · web portal
- Post a job with skills, location, pay band and start date.
- Get a ranked shortlist of matched workers.
- Pick candidates and send interview invites by SMS from the portal.
- Track every application in one place.

Ground rules
- Free for workers, permanently.
- Designed for low literacy and low confidence: short menus, plain words, confirmation by SMS.
- Built to comply with Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019 from day one.
What's next
- Secure the USSD short code licence from the Communications Authority of Kenya.
- Connect to Safaricom, Airtel and Telkom through Africa's Talking.
- Pilot with employers in Nairobi.
- Expand to Mombasa and Kisumu once Nairobi is working well.
